Last month we were at my sister-in-laws house celebrating a birthday when Brooks decided he wanted to try and see just how many steps he could jump down. For those of you who know Brooks good know that he has always been our little dare devil. Well as you can see from the picture and the title the jump down the stairs ended in a fractured foot... Here is a picture of his boot he wore for a few weeks:-( I am not sure it slowed him down any...

I am a little late on this one sorry... In January we went with a few other couples and their kiddos (10 adults and and 8 kids) We or at least me, Brett and the boys had a blast and we all can't wait to go back. The boys were natural skiers!! Here are a few pictures of the day. I don't have many because most of my time was spent trying to catch up with one of the boys.

This past Sunday- I took the boys and Bailey to the new park down the road from our house. It was a beautiful day. The boys rode bikes, went on a walk to the waterfall, and played on the playground. Here are some pictures of our afternoon.

This year Mason decided he wanted to have a few friends over to spend the night for his birthday... Well after the list was about 10-15 kids... I decided that we had to find a place for the party so we decided to do flag football at Creekside in loganville the kids had a blast and I will post pictures later. We also decided to let him have a sleep over so we told him he could pick 4 friends. The plan was pick them all up from school play for a while at our house- then head to Grayson for Mason's basketball game and out to dinner..... well plans changed just a little.....I think the plans changed for the better you tell me??

Who would have guessed that it would snow 4 inches in Georgia.. What a great birthday memory Mason will have for years!

We have had a lot going on at our house the last 2 weeks. Brett and I decided to tackle a few home improvement projects it is crazy what you have to do to TRY and sell a house(we have not relisted but hope to again when the market gets better).... and no Brett did not do the work we hired someone! Here are a few pictures of the work.

Kitchen with new Granite, sink and Tile back splash before being sealed... and cleaned
Downstairs 1/2 bath with new Travertine floors and new paint... I still have not put up the new mirror..
Our Master bath with new Granite and Travertine floors... next we are going to tackle the shower- That should be fun!!
Another picture of the Kitchen- we added a few inches of Granite to the island to create a bar ( you really can't tell that from these pictures) again this is before we cleaned the counters...see all the dust???

For those of you who have been following my cousins fight with her cancer... I have some updates for you. When she went back after her last dose of arsenic she was told that her levels (I am not sure what this means) were not good so she would have to start Chemo ( she is not strong enough for it but it is the last resort). She started the Chemo last week and yesterday she started running a fever and was admitted to the hospital. It does not look good right now so please keep her and her family in your prayers. On a positive note since I do not want to end on this- I went in yesterday for my first mammogram and an ultrasound for a lump I found last month and my test came back good!!

Allstar tryouts and Ambulance ride!!!

OK -no pictures but we had a very eventful evening last night. It started with ALLSTAR tryouts for Mason (and YES he made it- so our June will be busy). We ended up spending the rest of the evening in an ambulance to Egleston for Brooks. I can laugh now and say that he just wanted a little attention which he got!!!! so what happened??? Brooks was riding his scooter around the ball field and I noticed he parked it at the playground (this was the big playground- I have never liked at Baycreek) so I started to walk over when Brett called me over to bring him some baseball cards for the boys who were at tryouts so I took him the cards then walked over to the playground searching for Brooks when I finally found him face down and unconscious just laying in the woodchips not moving. It might just be the scariest moment of my life seeing his lifeless little body laying there. I know better but I picked him up-he was limp and not his legs or arms I carried him over to where Brett was finishing up tryouts and he started to cry but he was not able to talk clearly. Luckily there was a fireman who came over examined him and called 911. Brett rode in the ambulance with Brooks ( I was way too hysterical to be with him so I followed in my car behind them) they strapped him down to this board to keep his neck and back flat. He was very brave and did great. He did start to talk on the way to the hospital. Brooks had on Mason’s old ALLSTAR jersey and the paramedic asked him if he played baseball and of course Brooks said “yes” so the paramedic asked what position he liked to play and Brooks answered “ALLSTARS” Brett and the paramedic just started to laugh…. He also said he could feel and move his feet- when Brett told me this I felt a little better. Once we arrived at the hospital they took the board out from under him and he started to move his legs but they still did not want him to move his head and neck because he had pain on his spine and they were worried about a possible break. They took X-Ray’s and did a CT scan and all came back good!! Brooks got lots of attention the nurses gave him a little football and a teddy bear… he was eating it up:-) one of the nurses said how can you say “no to those eyes” anyway after the test came back they let him take the neck brace off have a popsicle and get up and walk he was wobbly but it was a great relief to see him walking!!! So we finally arrived home around 12:30 but I woke up every hour to make sure he was OK so needless to say Brett and I are a little sleep deprived today but what a relief our baby is fine!!! Just a little sore:-(

I also need to add a huge Thank you to Julie/Grammy for helping out with Mason. She had to take him home to get him ready for bed and school today. I know she was dying to be with us at the hospital. I don't know what we would do without such a caring and loving family Grandaddy, Papa and Nana could not stay away we had a room full...

On Sunday we went to see the Harlem Globtrotters at the Gwinnett Arena. It was so much fun. Here is some pictures of the boys after the game at home and 2 pictures from the game. When the game was over they were able to get a few autographs so if you look close you might see them on the ball and on the shorts.

Fun in the snow

The snow has come and gone and just a week later it is 75 degrees!! The boys had so much fun playing in the snow. Mason was running a fever on Sunday and Monday but he was still able to go out for a few minutes and enjoy the snow. They loved making snow balls and throwing them at each other and especially throwing them at Brett. Brooks loved making snow angels and wearing his frog galoshes. I am not big on the cold and wet snow but it was so much fun watching them have so much fun. I am so ready for summer!

Ok so I am a little late on this one ( I have been sick with Strep- FUN)

On wednesday Mason celebrated his 7th birthday. I can't believe that 7 awesome years have passed already since the birth of my first born- he is getting so big! This year we celebrated Mason's birthday DAY with just the 4 of us. Mason loves Mexican (he takes after his mother) so of course when we asked what he wanted to eat for his birthday he said Frontera. What he forgot was that they sing to you and make you wear that lovely hat and for those of you who know Mason he did not like this at all but he was a trooper. I can't believe that I did not think to snap a picture:-( Oh well but I did take lots of pictures from his party with "friends" on Friday. Wow, I never imagined how loud sixteen 7 year old boys could be. They had so much fun at Creekside Sports Center playing flag football and flag tag (thanks Mark for this suggestion the kids loved it). I will upload some pictures soon.

Back from the big NYC

Well after spending most of the night last night in the airport and only having 2 hours of sleep, we are back home from New York. It was a whirlwind of a weekend and so much fun. Saturday morning started with yet another surprise from the husbands. We arrived at the Moon house to find a limo waiting for us to take us all to the airport. After checking into our rooms and touring all day we went to see the Broadway show Chicago on Saturday, it was really good for those of us who actually stayed awake for the entire show. We also visited the Empire state building and walked and road all over New York. On Sunday, we shopped most of the day in China town, that was quite the experience.... ("10 dollar- I make no money") We also ran/ walked about 2 miles to see the miracle plane( that went down in the Hudson river last week. We rode in a yellow taxi/ the subway, got in trouble on tour buses, had pictures made with very large bulls (as well as many other places), and walked down Wallstreet. We also cried a little at ground zero and saw the Statue of Liberty. Then we finished our night on Sunday with a little sledding and walked on a frozen lake in Central Park. It snowed most of the day on Sunday and Monday and it was so beautiful. Even though we had a very hard time getting back home this morning (thanks Mark and Brent for picking us up at 1:30am) it was a great trip... Oh and I almost forgot a very important last surprise from my wonderful hubby... I walked into the house last night to the smell of clean (I love that smell):) he had someone (Becky) come and clean my house it was awesome!!!

Disney Marathon 2009

This weekend I completed my first Marathon in Walt Disney World. It was great it started at 6am with fireworks lighting up the sky at Epcot. We ran through Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, MGM, and ended again in Epcot. The race course was lined with people cheering, bands playing, and Characters everywhere!!!

If you look close we are holding hands across the finish :-) If it were not for Dana pushing me through and holding me accountable for our morning races I am not sure I could have done it.

We are leaving for Disney tomorrow and I am beyond excited!! I am running in my first Marathon 26.2 miles with a few of my girlfriends ( Dana, Lauren, Beth, and Nikki). I will update with pictures when I return. Who could ask for a better place to run their first marathon than Disney world. The boys are very excited to go back to "Mickey Mouse's house" as Brooks calls it. Mason is also getting to fly for the first time and is looking forward to the experience. I will update next week.... hopefully:)

Brooks decided last week that he needed to help Papa Tony paint the walls going up the stair case. He got all dressed up and spent about 30 minutes "painting" the walls and I took advantage and did some laundry. I did have to watch him because he kept asking if he could use the "real paint" so I was a little nervous because you just never know with Brooks...

NYC here we come!!

Last night we enjoyed our annual Christmas party with friends. We had a great dinner at Dominick's then headed back to the White's and enjoyed our white elephant gift exchange. Just after the gift exchange the night got really interesting.... Each of the girls received an envelope that we all had to open at the same time- I don't think any one of us could of imagined just what would be inside??? The husbands had planned a girls weekend for all 8 of us in NYC!!!! We will leave in 3 weeks I can't wait!!!

Painting fun! Today we used salt dough and made ornaments for the grandparents. The boys had so much fun cutting out the shapes then painting them .... Oh what a mess....

Tonight we carved our pumpkin- Brooks loved it! I think he would have put his head in if we would have let him. He kept just wanting to see just how many get more seeds he could get out. I am not sure if we had more seeds on the floor or on Brooks when we were done.. Mason joined in on the fun also he just did not really want to touch any of the gross stuff inside!

This weekend we went to an adult costume party and as you can see we decided to go as Sarah Palin and John McCain:-) As we were leaving the house Mason looked at us and said " Dad you guys look dumb dressed like that" I don't think he knew what to think of mom and dad dressed in suits- you don't see this very often.

Tonight we went bowling with my sister- in-law's family. It was spirit night for A and R's school. The kids enjoyed bowling and playing games.

The summer is over and we have enjoyed every minute of it. We welcomed 2 new cousins to the family this summer. For those who don't know my brother and his wife had twin boys 7 weeks early. They are growing fast and doing great here is a picture of the family.

This summer we have been to the beach (twice), lazer show, white water, six flags, swimming, sleep overs, etc. The 2nd beach trip was to with my parents- the place we stayed had this 40 foot water slide and Mason and Brett loved it!! Brooks was not tall enough so they had to ride during his nap time poor Brooks maybe next time. Brooks was just fine as long as he had a little food while at the beach:-)

Now it is back to school!

Wow what a busy summer!! This is my first post and I am hoping a can figure this thing out. We spent the first week of the summer at the beach it was a blast. When we returned from the beach we spent the next 4 weeks at the ball fields for Mason's Allstars it was so much fun. Now that baseball is over we are enjoying the next few weeks of the summer by spending the days at the pool, and playing outside (so much that Brooks has learned to ride his bike with no training wheels)
